All of our employees worldwide are actors of ASSA ABLOY’s sustainability initiatives, which include concern for the environment; the development and promotion of sustainable products, health and safety, social responsibility, and business partner compliance.
Creating customer value through sustainable innovation
Our customers are rapidly turning to sustainable door opening solutions, particularly on account of energy savings and health concerns for the occupants of a building. Sustainable innovation is essential to meeting customer demands; ASSA ABLOY uses its Sustainable Innovation Practices to build sustainability in the product innovation process.
Zero Waste
We strive to minimise waste everywhere possible. Our mantra is: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. This allows us to focus on driving waste up the hierarchy to avoid waste generation in the first place. In Europe, Middle East and Africa, 15 of our sites have achieved Zero Waste to Landfill. To validate this claim, we appointed the internationally recognised NGO, Carbon Trust, to independently verify our Zero Waste status.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
We are leading the way towards a more transparent and sustainable global industry with our participation in the EPD program, with more than 250 environmental product declarations published for multiple product categories across the Group since 2008. Education increases understanding
To increase sustainability awareness within the ASSA ABLOY Group, we educate our employees with short, interactive online courses and empower them to take action. Our Green Teams help our business to operate in a more efficient, innovative and durable way.
