An Environmental Product Declaration is a complete mapping of a product’s environmental footprint based on a detailed lifecycle assessment (LCA), and independently verified by an accredited third party.
They provide information in a standardised and consistent way that allows products to be compared with one another by looking at various lifecycle stages. They do not guarantee that a product is energy-sufficient or sustainable, but provides information in a standardised and consistent way that enables you to make an informed choice when selecting one solution over another.
At ASSA ABLOY, we believe that demonstrating sustainability is not only reducing the risks associated with climate change and urbanisation, but also improving the long term value of assets.
This is why since 2008, we are leading the way towards a more transparent and sustainable global industry with our participation in the EPD program, with more than 250 environmental product declarations across the Group since 2008. Based on the internationally recognised standards ISO14025 and EN15804, we help contributing credits towards green building certification, such as BREEAM or LEED and reducing a building’s environmental impact.
